1. Acceptance of these terms
By booking an inspection or otherwise using the services of Rooftop Drone Techs ("we," "us," or "our"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't book the service.
These terms form a binding agreement between you (the "Customer") and Rooftop Drone Techs.
2. Description of service
Rooftop Drone Techs provides aerial roof inspection services using a Transport Canada-certified Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS). A standard inspection includes:
- An on-site drone flight capturing 4K aerial imagery of your property's roof
- A physical SD card containing the raw imagery, delivered to you
- A structured PDF condition report drafted with AI assistance and reviewed by an owner before delivery
- Standard 48-hour turnaround from flight to report delivery (24-hour rush available as an add-on)
3. Booking, cancellation, and rescheduling
Free cancellation window
You can cancel or reschedule any booking up to 24 hours before the scheduled inspection time at no charge.
Late cancellations
Cancellations made within 24 hours of the appointment may forfeit any deposit paid, at our discretion. We may waive this for genuine emergencies.
Weather-related reschedules
Drone flights depend on safe, legal flying conditions. If weather (rain, high wind, low visibility, or other unsafe conditions) prevents the flight, we'll reschedule you at no charge. We'd rather wait a day than capture unusable imagery.
No-shows
If we arrive at the scheduled time and address and the property is inaccessible without prior notice, the booking may be treated as a no-show and any deposit forfeited.
4. Pricing and payment
- All prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD) and exclusive of applicable taxes (HST will be added where required).
- Standard pricing tiers: $275 (Standard Home, up to 3,000 sq ft), $375 (Large Home, 3,000–6,000 sq ft), $475+ (Estate / Multi-Building, 6,000+ sq ft or complex sites).
- The 24-hour rush turnaround add-on is an additional $75 CAD.
- Estate / Multi-Building pricing is a starting point and may be quoted based on actual site scope.
- Payment is due at or before the time of inspection unless other arrangements have been made (B2B accounts may be invoiced on net terms).
- We accept credit card, Interac e-Transfer, and bank transfer for B2B accounts.
Travel beyond a 30 km radius from our home base may incur a travel fee of $0.30/km, disclosed before booking confirmation.
5. Scope of service — important limitations
To use our service appropriately, please understand these four limitations of what we provide:
Our service is not a licensed home inspection or structural assessment. For a full home inspection or structural engineering review, engage a licensed home inspector or professional engineer.
Our service is not a warranty or guarantee of roof condition. Reports describe what is visible from above on the day of the flight. They do not warrant the roof's future performance.
Our service is not an insurance claim certification or determination. Imagery and reports can support a claim, but coverage and outcomes are determined by your insurer, not by us.
Our service is not a repair estimate. Repair pricing comes from a licensed roofing contractor who can quote labour and materials for your specific situation.
6. Customer responsibilities
To allow us to deliver a useful inspection, you agree to:
- Provide accurate property details, including address, approximate square footage, and any access notes
- Grant reasonable property access on the scheduled date and time, including any gates, gate codes, or driveway access required
- Disclose known hazards before the flight — overhead power lines, cell towers, large trees, animals, ongoing construction, or other obstacles that could affect safe drone operation
- Confirm you are the property owner or have authorization from the owner to commission an aerial inspection
- Pay invoices on the agreed terms
7. Our responsibilities
We commit to:
- Operating in compliance with Transport Canada Advanced RPAS regulations
- Carrying $2,000,000 commercial drone liability insurance throughout the engagement
- Honouring confirmed bookings barring genuine emergencies or unsafe conditions
- Delivering reports within the agreed turnaround window (48 hours standard, 24 hours rush) measured from the time of the flight
- Reviewing every AI-drafted report by an owner before sending it to you
- Treating your property and personal information with care, per our Privacy Policy
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Ontario and Canadian law:
- Our total liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid for that specific inspection.
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, including lost profits, lost opportunities, or damages arising from decisions made based on our reports.
- You acknowledge that our reports document visible conditions at the time of flight only, and you assume responsibility for engaging additional licensed professionals (home inspectors, structural engineers, roofing contractors, insurance adjusters) where appropriate to your decisions.
- Nothing in this section limits liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable Canadian law.
9. Insurance
We carry commercial drone liability insurance with a $2 million limit, in force for the duration of all flight operations. Proof of insurance is available on request for B2B clients.
10. Intellectual property
- Aerial imagery on the SD card: Upon full payment, the imagery captured of your property is yours to use as you see fit (sharing with contractors, insurers, future buyers, etc.).
- The PDF report: Licensed to you for personal, business, transactional, and insurance purposes related to the inspected property. You may share it freely with parties involved in those purposes.
- Our methods, templates, and branding: Remain the property of Rooftop Drone Techs. The report's structure and any branded elements may not be republished or modified for resale.
- Marketing use of imagery: We may use anonymized imagery (no addresses or identifying information) for portfolio, marketing, or training purposes unless you opt out in writing before or during the inspection.
11. Privacy
Your personal information is handled per our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these terms by reference. We comply with Canada's PIPEDA and CASL requirements.
12. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and applicable federal laws of Canada. Any dispute will be brought in the courts of Ontario, unless the parties agree in writing to mediation or arbitration.
Before pursuing a formal dispute, we ask that you contact us in good faith to attempt resolution. Most issues can be sorted out by email or phone.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email to active customers or via prominent notice on this site. Your continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
